Log timber fellings in family forests 1991-2017

Resources and ownership

  • The transition period in 1993–2005 in forest taxation brought log timber sales on to a higher level in privately owned forests, which in Finland means forests owned by families or individuals. Since 2006, only timber revenues from selling wood are taxed. The peak in fellings in 2007 was caused by high prices.
