Climate change (ilmastonmuutos)

Greenhouse effect means the ability of the atmosphere to retain Sun’s radiation reflected from Earth. The acceleration of the greenhouse effect means that the atmosphere is able to retain more of the radiation. The greenhouse effect is necessary for all life on Earth. In contrast, the acceleration of the greenhouse effect is harmful if it increases the temperature of the atmosphere. The acceleration of the greenhouse effect is called the climate change and is affected by certain atmospheric gases. From the point of view of quantity, the most significant of them is carbon dioxide. If the volume of atmospheric carbon dioxide increases, the greenhouse effect may be accelerated. Carbon dioxide is created by burning carbon-containing fuels. The burning of biomass, such as wood, does not increase the volume of atmospheric carbon, if we make sure that new biomass is grown to replace the biomass used.
