Total roundwood removals, increment and drain of growing stock

Resources and ownership

  • In addition to the growth of Finland’s forest resources, the picture shows that fellings in Finland has been lower than the growth, which is why the amount of wood in the forests and also the carbon stock grow.
  • In 2023, removals were 11.2 million cubic metres below the estimated felling potential in the whole of Finland which means that 86 per cent of the potential was used.
  • The total drain comprises stemwood removals and stemwood of logging residues and naturally died stemwood left in forests.
