In the future, you can take care of your plant in a more ecological and easy way with a tweeting biodegradable flowerpot. Inside the flowerpot there is a humidity sensor printed on paper. The sensor is there to send messages to your mobile phone concerning the conditions of the plant and its need of irrigation, for example.
The measured information from the sensor is sent to the cloud service. There the data can be combined, for example, with weather information in order to optimize the irrigation needs and timing.
Technology for the flowerpot already exists. The target is to create a consumer product available for all.
