Stora Enso exploits cloud service app in its smart packages

Stora Enso is starting to use cloud service Microsoft Azure in its smart packages. Azure is Microsoft’s public cloud service, which can be used, for example, in analysing large data amounts, machine learning and as a platform for virtual services.

With the cloud service the customers using smart packages can gather information for analysis reliably and safely, the company tells in its press release. It also enables the gathering of all data in that same place.

Stora Enso uses RFID (Radio Frequency Indentification) in its smart packages. This enables locating and tracking the package. It also helps to verify that the package stays intact along the whole supply chain.

Microsoft Azure can be upscaled for each client. ”It is a reliable platform for us and our globally operating customers. It enables us to gather and analyze package information anytime and anywhere. Smart cloud-based features and renewable packages are a combination, which helps to improve effectiveness and profitability,” says Teemu Salmi from Stora Enso.
