Tetra Pak has developed the world’s first carton-based packaging material, in which food can be heated by a pressure cooker. With the help of the method the storage time for food products such as sauces or soups is extended even up to two years.

Previously, only metal or glass containers could be used in a pressure cooker. The new Tetra Recart pack replaces them. It is firm, but it is 60 percent lighter than the corresponding metal can with a content of 400 grams.

Because of its rectangular shape the Tetra Recart packages take 30-40 percent less space than corresponding metal or glass packages. After use, it can be easily flattened and recycled with cardboard waste.
